The Scale of Britain's Military Decline Revealed

The Daily Telegraph very recently reported on the latest bout of Buenos Aires sabre rattling over ownership of the Falklands Islands. There was nothing particularly significant about the article except for one thing – a comparison between Britain’s military resources now and those we possessed back in 1982 at the time of the Falklands War. We invite readers to compare and contrast the two sets of figures. Further comment, we believe, is unnecessary.

  1. Reading this reminds us of our rapid decent into Third world status.

  2. Isn’t it about time we declared TRUE WAR against the TRAITORS who have left us unable to defend ourselves.
When it comes please do not go scapegoating foreigners as it’s those TRAITORS in positions of power IE, Police, Councils, Mayors, POLITICIANS etc.
They should be the first to go.
    don’t forget

  3. You’ve omitted two major ships from the 2012 “Naval Review” listing – namely HMS Victory (currently under permanent refit in Portsmouth Harbour) and Britain’s most heavily armed warship HMS Belfast (currently patrolling the Thames). Furthermore I understand that the navy also possesses a number of rubber dinghies which (if suitably armed) are thought capable of tackling the fiercest of Spanish and French trawlers!

  4. (Party Member) The ‘Government’ is to offer armed forces personnel buying their first home interest free loans towards a deposit. The whole subject of helping our armed forces people needs dealing with! Previously I have posted the comment that every retiring member of our armed services should be offered a council house automatically in the area they are from upon their retirement. I hope we can get these and other decent sensible and indeed vote winning policies ‘ on our books as soon as possible!
