Reported by John Bean.
Reports now appear daily of criminal illegal immigrants dodging expulsion from these shores because it will ‘infringe their human rights’. The human rights of those they have murdered, raped or seriously maimed are not taken into account. How do they get away with it? Quite simple: they abuse the British legal aid system, courtesy of the taxpayers. This abuse of what the legal aid system was originally intended to achieve should be stopped.
Leading – and milking – this aspect of the use of legal aid is a conglomeration of leftist lawyers – many of them of immigrant origin – known as Public Interest Lawyers. It is headed by Phil Shiner, the same lawyer who brought the dreamt-up case against some 20 British soldiers in Iraq accused of ill-treating Iraqi prisoners. Shiner also tried to get benefits for the Iraqis dependents. Fortunately this case was thrown out the window. Public Interest Lawyers are also connected with several of the pressure groups agitating for the reduction to the existing feeble restrictions on .immigration.
Even the Government’s Justice Secretary, Chris Grayling, thinks we should stop the legal aid abusers. Writing in the Daily Telegraph recently he said: “Pressure groups and lawyers exploit our legalistic society – leaving taxpayers to foot the bill. Most right-minded people think it’s wrong that overseas nationals should ever have been able to use our legal aid.”
Grayling gave an example of a law firm receiving legal aid money carried on pursuing a case on behalf of a Muslim extremist, even though he had gone on the run, breaking court orders, dressed in a burka.
He also said that, rather belatedly, the Government is pushing ahead with proposals to stop this kind of abuse given above of the legal aid system and particularly stop the payment of the legal bill of people who have never even been to Britain. Regular visitors to this site will not be surprised to know that Left-wing lawyers are taking the Government to court to try to stop the proposals.
Understaffed Borders
When the courts are successful in deporting an illegal immigrant, too often they manage to get back in. Much of this can be laid at the door of the Government for its cuts in the Border Agency force.
A typical result of this is described in a recent report where a judge (Richard Bray at Northampton Crown Court) described our borders as “ a leaking sieve”. He was dealing with an illegal immigrant drug dealer who had been deported three times only to return on each occasion to commit more crimes.
Baksim Bushati, 37, from Albania was jailed for seven years after 2lb of cocaine worth about £27,000, plus £14,000 in cash, was found at his home.
uk taxpayers should not pay toward any illegal activity from immigrants
british taxpayers should not have to pay for any immigrants who dont act within our laws
(Party Member) I hope we adopt the following policy; Britain will not allow entry to our Country any person, from anywhere, who has any type of criminal record. This straight forward and indeed obvious measure would solve many problems.
