Theresa May has proved a grave disappointment as Prime Minister, as has Philip Hammond as Chancellor of the Exchequer. In the EU referendum they were both committed Remainers and despite the democratic referendum result obliging them to carry out Brexit they both remain at heart Remainers. They have made concession after concession to the EU bully-boys: Jean-Claude Junker, President of the European Commission, the EU’s executive arm responsible for European integration; Donald Tusk, President of the European Council, responsible for political direction of the EU, and Michael Barnier, Chief European Brexit negotiator.
After her misjudgement in calling a snap general election last year, intended to increase her Tory majority but instead resulting in a diminished majority, Theresa May has lost credibility as Leader of her party and as Prime Minister. She had been persuaded by the strategy of going for an increased mandate at a moment when she appeared to be popular with voters – at least according to private opinion polls conducted by her two close advisers, the formidable joint chiefs of staff Nick Timothy and Fiona Hill. But her cold demeanour, robotic delivery of her electioneering speeches, together a shrewd use of social media by the Labour Party to attract younger voters, combined to reduce her previous slim majority of twelve to absolute zero, forcing her to join forces with Ireland DUP in Ireland to achieve a working majority again.
Timothy and Hill paid a high price of their poor advice to Theresa by being summarily dismissed. In their place stepped another formidable figure: Cabinet Secretary and Head of the Civil Service Sir Jeremy Heywood. His role is ostensibly to ensure that the government delivers on its policies, but he is also very influential on what government policy is; he controls access to the Prime Minister and practically runs the country behind the scenes through the power she gives him. Between 2003 to 2007 he was managing director at private investment bank Morgan Stanley, which still maintains a close relationship with Downing Street. Unsurprisingly, he is also a committed Remainer, as is his wife Lady Heywood. She used to work at international management consultants McKinsey and is now managing director at Exor, a £5.8 billion investment company controlled by the wealthy Agnellis dynasty. She is also on the board of the Economist magazine, which is vehemently anti-Brexit.
Britain needs Brexit negotiators with the balls to stand up to the EU bullies: committed Brexiteers like Boris Johnson, David Davies, Jacob Reese-Mogg and Liam Fox – who are high profile and liked by voters. The idea of being required to pay billions of pounds every year for the privilege of trading with another country, or group of countries, is
disgusting – trade is supposed to be mutually beneficial and free of impediment. Furthermore, free movement of millions of immigrant invaders and subservience to an EU Court of so-called Justice has little to do with “trade”. It would be beneficial to have tariff-free trade with Europe, but not at any price. All countries have access to the EU for trade, albeit under World Trade Organisation tariffs averaging 6%. But if the EU charges such tariffs on our goods and services exported to Europe then we could and should impose the same tariffs on their German cars and French wines imported into Britain. Free Access to the UK market should only be granted if we are provided with free access to the EU Single Market and EU Customs Union – tit for tat! We have the rest of the world to trade with. There is arguably too much trade taking place anyway – whatever happened to “Buy British” and “British jobs for British workers”?
The British Democratic Party , pretty much ‘ on the ball again ‘. The People need to get behind the Party that actually cares !
When nobody was talking about it , last year , I wrote an article advocating we just Join the World Trade organisation and PAY NOTHING MORE TO THE EUROPEAN UNION SUPERSTATE. I stand by that and are very pleased to see that it is gradually becoming B.D.P. POLICY.
You’ve hit the nail straight on the head…Britain is being made to look desperate and weak by these corrupt EU socialist tyrants. We need people with backbone to stand up and be counted.
Join the Party with backbone , the British Democratic Party. No obligations on your time ( although you might be surprised that you want to leaflet some houses occasionally ) and definitely no constant demands for money ( like some Party’s we won’t mention ) but you will get the satisfaction of knowing that at least , YOU HAVE DONE THE RIGHT THING , FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY !
Rees Mogg is one of the few Tories that has the genuine respect of the activist base of his party. His arguments for Brexit have always been articulate and convincing, and he would run rings around any of the Remoaners. Shame there were not more like him in the Conservative party.
He is one of the very, very few half-way decent Tories and he seems to have always believed in getting out of the EU unlike some others who seem to have only done it for self-advancement (ie Boris Johnson). As he is more traditional in his viewpoints than many Tories are nowdays he has probably got zero chance of becoming their leader. Also, as he went to Eton College, speaks with a RP accent and is pretty high-class the Tories will overlook him as they don’t think people of that background will be able to connect with ‘ordinary’ voters. A mainly globalist party gets globalist ‘leaders’ such as Teresa Mayhem, Amber Rudderless etc.
I wholeheartedly agree with the view that Theresa May Amber Rudd & Phillip Hammond must go as soon as possible I am not convinced of Corbyn becoming Prime Minister more likely Boris Johnson Labour is also completely unfit to enter Government britishconstitutiongroup.com
Theresa May, Amber Rudd and Phillip Hammond must all be pushed out of office. It really is no surprise the EU is playing silly games and won’t negociate seriously if we have a Remainer as PM, and many other Remainers in important offices of state like the Home Office and Treasury. Is anyone REALLY surprised at the EU’s attitude toward’s Brexit then? I am not.
With the ghastly media full of stories about how Theresa May is being warned by top Conservatives and Party financial backers, that she will lose her Premiership if she continues to support Britain staying in the Customs Union and continuing Free movement of Peoples , the above article is well worth another read.
