Mishal Husain

There has been remarkable coverage  of the appointment of Mishal Husain, a Female Asian telejournalist of Pakistani ‘heritage’, as a presenter on the ‘Today’ programme.  The Daily Telegraph had a huge photograph of a beaming Ms Husain on its front page, larger than is normally given to people who have been appointed as Cabinet Ministers, or indeed any other position of real note. This photograph was in fact rather unfortunate for Ms Husain, because it reveals her as a good deal more Pakistani –looking and less attractive in close –up than she appears on TV.

Nevertheless, the Telegraph was at pains to point out that Ms Husain has credentials other than a pretty face.  She has brains too, it says. To which assertion it might be retorted; ‘Yes, and so have a good many other people’.  But as the Telegraph blog itself says, Husain’s appointment follows ‘a high-profile campaign for more female voices on Radio 4’ and was ‘widely welcomed’. (Who by?)

Apart from a pretty face and alleged brains, Husain has ‘influential supporters’ in the BBC, as the Daily Mail puts it. Well, wouldn’t you know it.  A classic case of ‘who you know’ then?  But  why this influential support?

Husain has certain other qualifications which the Telegraph did not mention. She is of course, female and so meets the requirement of the ‘high-profile campaign’ mentioned by the Mail, for which poor old Naughtie was sacrificed, or so it certainly seems.  She is also Asian and so scores doubly highly on the BBC political correctness index. Then she is a muslim, ie not Christian (Anyone but a Christian) and apparently hostile to Israel, both aspects which go down well with the left-liberals at the BBC.  Being hostile to Israel is a left-liberal cover for anti-semitism.

In a hash of an interview with Gil Hoffmann, Chief Political Correspondent for the Jerusalem Post which was so ridiculous and offensive that it ought to give rise to serious doubts as to her suitability for the ‘Today’ job she showed that common sense is not her forte when she argued that the number  of rockets being fired by Hamas into Israel over the years  was irrelevant because ‘they had only killed 20 people’. (The figure is actually probably double that and in any case Husain ignored  the deaths of Israelis by other Palestinian  means amounting to over 1200 Israelis killed and 8000 injured in a decade)

She actually suggested that these rockets were merely amateurish affairs and weren’t to be taken seriously compared with the major weaponry which might have been used. In fact, she argued, Hamas was doing good by relying on these rockets rather than their more powerful weaponry-!!!

The constant anxiety induced by not knowing when the next rocket might arrive seems to have escaped the woman who ‘has brains’ and who thinks that a mere 20 Israeli dead civilians is nothing much to worry about.  She should have remembered (if she ever knew) Sun Tzu’s bon mot, quoted by Mao Tse-Tung;  ‘Kill one, frighten ten thousand.’ She also forgot about, or didn’t think worth mentioning, the destruction of property and the maiming of victims by these ‘insignificant’ rockets..

Apart from all that, we may be fairly certain that Husain is a dedicated multiculturalist and multiracialist.  When an elderly bystander in a supermarket  ticked her off last year about her children, saying that they ought to behave ‘like proper English children’ this silly woman actually complained to the supermarket management about ‘racism’ demanding that the elderly gent in question be ‘confronted’. The fact that she thought this a proper thing to do demonstrates not just her lack of common sense, but the depths of pc enslavement this county has plunged to .

Altogether then, regardless of the fact that her interviewing skills on the above showing are pretty dire (What do they matter?) Husain is very nearly the perfect candidate for one of the BBC’s top jobs.

So now the ‘Today’ programme, which broadcasts to England, has, instead of a line-up of a Welshman (John Humphrys), a Scot (James Naughtie), a blatant homosexual with a Welsh name (Evan Davies), an apparent Jewess,(Sarah Montague) and a solitary Englishman, Justin Webb, all of the above except Naughtie who is replaced by this Asian Female.

Can the Today Programme get more Politically Correct and anti- English? Probably. What’s required now is the replacement of Justin Webb by a black, preferably female. Think it can’t happen?
