By Southwest Nationalist. From Bodmin in Cornwall we have the interesting story of librarian Jesse Foot, who has started a “books we’d like to burn” campaign.
Now, he may be making a serious point, he states that “The only thing worse than burning books is not reading them. I want to get the message across that not using your library is as good as burning it down”.
He may be seeking a bit of publicity, it seems his job with the library is being axed and he’s due to leave the library service in December.
Either way, the controversy arises because among the books he would like to burn, Mr Foot has chosen a copy of the Bible.
We’ll note in fairness before proceeding that Mr Foot’s Twitter page describes him as a “Jesus Christ Believer”.
We’ll also note he’s a weekly columnist with the Cornish Guardian – Bodmin, Wadebridge, and North Cornwall, editions.
Rev Canon Graham Minors, of Bodmin, says that “I think he’s trying to be too clever. I can see what he is trying to do, but he is being very insensitive towards people who call themselves Christians – if it were the Koran he would be in real trouble”.
He has a very good point.
Had it been the Koran Mr Foot had chosen then the thought crimes Gestapo would have been out in force, probably along with some death threats from those poor, offended but peace loving Muslims.
Of course we don’t know what would have happened for sure, but we can take a guess he’d have been suspended from that library job pending an investigation, probably quietly dropped from his column by the Cornish Guardian, and generally suffered as a result of including the Koran in his books to burn list.
Because it’s the Bible though, the scandal is minimal, the consequences are non-existent. All is calm, not even a ripple. Had it been the Koran, well, you know what happens.
Remember the Mohammed cartoons? Or today’s news that the office of Charlie Hebdo, French satirical magazine, has had its offices petrol bombed after naming prophet Muhammad as editor?
Protest, crime, huge moral indignation from the usual suspects, follows anything that is even remotely perceived as an attack on Islam or the strictures which Islam expects us to adhere to in the name of respecting and tolerating their faith.
Christianity is fair game, say or do what you like, there will be few objections and nobody listens to those who object anyway. It’s a very two tier system where one group taking offence counts for far more than another group.
Serious point about reading and library closures Mr Foot may have, but another serious point he raises by accident or “insensitivity” as the Rev Graham Minors calls it.
That point is this – that the Koran and Islam are held sacred in our so called Christian nation, and are off-limits, no other view is permitted. The Bible and Christianity have had open season declared on them.
Would Mr Foot care to add the Koran to his books he’d like to burn list just to prove that point for us?

We keep hearing about this “..Hate Crime..” and “…Racism…” tripe.
What complete and utter tripe: only an uneducated fool would have invented such isms and terms.
What these fools and imbeciles in bubonic Labour are trying to do is “spook” you into thinking, and feeling, that you are “…really, really bad…” for being quite “really, really decent and normal”. That is the whole point of their somewhat tripish and stupid name-calling.
I am getting to the point where I just cannot stop laughing at them.

If that were the case, we would not have had so much of a problem. The point is, these terms were invented by politically motivated people, consciously and deliberately for a highly malignant purpose. These terms; ‘hate crime’, ‘racism’ etc were invented by Hirschfield and the Marxist Jewish Frankfurt School types and they set in train a process which has had a devastating effect so far. Unfortunately for us, the “fools” are amongst our own peoples for falling for it and/or failing to resist it.
The Frankfurt school should surely be criticised for its totalitarianistic approach, such as is seen in its UAF Marxism; the Far-Left extension of the original dialectic of Hegelianism. However, what is wrong with being Jewish by nationality? The Jews are, or were, the chosen nation; the incubus to bring Christ into the world, whom we are all to believe and trust in for salvation. So let us continue to pray for the Israelites that they, with us, may truly become partakers of His salvation (Romans 10-11.)
Very good article, Southwest, and I like your style of writing as well. Perhaps we need secret squads who will blow up anyone who insults Christianity and the Bible – then these might suddenly become respected! This suggestion is, of course, hyperbole, but it shines a spotlight on what “officialdom” is permitting Islam to get away with here.
